The Letter – Blog Tour & Author Interview

Howdy!

Today I get to welcome Ms. Willowy Whisper back to the blog to help celebrate the release of her newest novel, The Letter! But before we get to the interview, here’s a little bit about the book!

First it was just a letter, maybe a joke, a coincidence. Now it was more than that. Now it was a living nightmare, threatening everyone he loved, pulling his greatest fear into a reality . . .

As the letters keep coming, Brock Sumner watches his world shatter at his feet. Building a wall around his heart seemed like the only answer. Is there any other way to protect the woman he loves?

A drunk, with no incentive to change; a runaway, with a price on his back; a young child, afraid in the dark . . .

Will the letters, perhaps, pull their lives together? Or will the killer find a way to destroy them all?

The Interview!

Howdy, Willowy, and welcome to the blog!

To start off, tell us one little known fact about yourself.

I am an incurable romantic. Like . . . bad. Everything, in some way or another, becomes romantic in my eyes, and I’m pretty sure I drive my family crazy with all my “love” talk.

Haha! Deep down I am too. 🙂 Is there anything in particular that you researched in order to help bring The Letter to life?

Actually, no. I grew up watching old movies and westerns, so I didn’t need much research on life back then (although I did Google a few minor things).

Awesome! What is the overall theme that defines The Letter?

I’d say that The Letter is a western, with a lot of suspense and a bit of romance (I never write a novel without a love story).

Ooh, that’s a great mix. Who was the easiest character to write and why?

Brock Sumner (the guy I would marry if he existed in real life) was probably the easiest. Or maybe he was just my favorite. I don’t know. They were all fun to write, so that made everyone easy. 🙂

Hehe! That does make it a lot easier. If you need support or encouragement during the writing process, who do you turn to?

My mother. She is ever faithful, ever helpful—and doesn’t mind telling me the truth, even when it stings. She believes in me, no matter how big my dreams, or how far away they may sometimes seem.

You get two books and a movie to keep you company for the next year. What do you choose?

Give me a couple Terri Blackstock books and I am happy. As for the movie? Emma is probably the most romantic movie I can think of, so I’ll take that. Besides, it’s really long . . . so since it has to keep me entertained for a whole year, that’s a good thing, huh?

Exactly! And last question! If you knew you were going to leave an unfinished manuscript behind, what would you do?

Sob.

Haha! That and panic would probably be my reaction honestly. Thanks for coming over, Willowy!
